I just finished my Foundation year and would have to say it was a tough year. I am going into fine art and com art. I think that everything that happened good or bad happened for a reason this last year. I look back and there were times that i wish i was not there but that was only because there was so much i needed to do and so little time. Life is hard at times even in school. I know some people who hated the year and want to get out and i know others who find it a blessing. I feel that foundation year was all about seeing who can handle it.The ones that hated it obviously could nto handle it and should get out. I dont want to be around people who are constantly negitive. I mean there are classes you should not get any homework in and those are the ones you get the most! I will not lie it is a difficult school but I would rather be constantly busy and learning than in a school that constantly teaches you the basics! I started off with no friends and through out the year made some great friends with aweosme memories. If your thinking about going i would visit the campus first. Meet the teachers. Sit in a class or two and get a feel for the school. Its different than a normal college and is hard core. Otis was my last choice in schools but once I visited all the school and talked to faculty i knew OTIS is where i belong. I hope this helps you.

This school is not a very academically motivating school.
At one time this college was once great, but now it has totally degenerated into a degree factory. Most of the faculty were rude, and extremely pretentious.

It seems the faculty are more concerned over how the students will compete with them professionally. In this kind of an environment, you either join the elitists or be an outcast . This school needs a serious academic reform before it should be taken seriously.

I would recommend a degree from a University or Liberal studies.

Definately do research into the area of interest that you intend to go into. Otis is a wonderful school and its foundation year, the first year which all majors take is an exceptional program. It is extremely well thought out and guided. Otis also has exceptional design programs.
