Pomona College is quite a great place.Quite BrightOther
Pomona College is quite a great place. I've made really good friends here which I think I will carry throughout my lifetime, as well as had great discussions with fellow students and professors about a variety of topics. I felt in this small college atmosphere I was able to get to know a lot of people and interact with them on a regular basis. As it is a liberal arts school with many interdisciplinary studies as well as having about 95% of the students living on campus using shared dining halls, it was easy to talk to people outside of your major/department and with the upper/underclassmen.

Not to say it was all fun and games, as the coursework is tough (depending on your major, I was a PPE major) and professors expect you to perform at a level befitting your intelligence. Professors will not let you slack. The town around Pomona is called Claremont, a small almost retirement community. Very quiet, and stores close very early. Restaurants are usually too expensive. I recommend getting a car, as it allows you to see L.A., a primarily car-city. Social life at Pomona is what you make of it, as there are various activities always going on (but not always the ones you want to attend). You can explore L.A., join a frat, play D&D, get involved in politics groups, join cultural activities, go to dances and parties, play quake on the high speed network, or just hang out with friends and talk about life, philosophy, and anything else.I had a great time at Pomona, and wouldn't hestitate to go back.

Um...I like the laid back West Coast thing we've got going on, and the other 4 colleges here make a small college feel a little bit more exciting.
