Davis is one of the few true collegeQuite BrightPsychology
Davis is one of the few true college towns left in the UC system. It's a great mix between rural and urban life. It's not too fast paced and not too slow paced. It's an absolutely gorgeous campus with amazingly friendly students and professors. There's a good mix between partying and studying, neither of which are too "in-your-face." The city of Davis really does center around the university, which is something I love. The surrounding city may not be the most active, but students who come here don't expect fun to come to them. They make their own fun, and there are ALWAYS things to do in Davis.

Also, UCD is one of the top research universities in the nation, with MANY top ranked departments. It's no longer a back-up school, as people are beginning to realize. It's constantly developing and growing, and it will continue moving up in the rankings.

Athletics are great at UCD as well. Not only does the campus have a brand new Athletics and Recreation facility (the ARC), but it also offers ICA, IM, and Club sports, all of which are very accessible on campus. The ARC also offers a ton of fun dance, aerobics, and martial arts classes. ICA sports are also huge at UCD, and our two football rivalries (Sac State and Cal Poly) make for great games each year.

UCD has some of the best science and engineering opportunities available in the country to students, and continually receives more funds for research than the majority of public institutions in the state. However, if you're looking to be around fake, unintelligent people who care about nothing more than nice tans, cheap drugs and alcohol, and spreading gossip, UC Davis isn't the place for you.

Davis is a great school, and is consistentlyQuite BrightPolitical Science
Davis is a great school, and is consistently underrated. Academic, social, and athletic opportunities are endless. The town is a jewel for students and professors alike. To those reading this site, consider that those with bad experiences are more likely to post their opinions on this site than the population as a whole. Everyone I know is quite happy.

Question
I think my ratings say enough.Quite BrightPolitical Science
I think my ratings say enough. UC Davis is the perfect place to go to college. The city of Davis is one of the last remaining college towns on the west coast. The people are nice and the campus is great. The athletics are definitely on the rise and the school spirit is too. Division I will do a lot for the university. UC Davis is already an AMAZING school academically and it is just getting better!
