Davis is one of the best colleges in the nation to gain experience outside of the class room. They are number one in the nation in offering internships and they research experience oppertunities fo undergraduates in all fields of study. The campus is very open, and the city is very bike and pedestrian friendly. You don't need a car at Davis, which helps out in the affordability.

Don't make the mistake I made, go somewhere else. UCD is very good in a few majors, but generally you can can get the same education at all of the other UC and State campuses. Academically the school is ok, but the community is anti student, the weather is horrible and the UCD Administration does not seem to care. There are so many better places.

Professors make classes extremely theory-based with almost no practical application. They discourage outside research or internships with companies outside the university. They are helpful but only on issues relating to their class. Students are, as a whole, shy and unfriendly. They click to their same friends from the freshman dorms and rarely wish to expand their horizons. People show little interest in clubs or meeting new people.
