Well, I also attended community college followed byBrightBiology
Well, I also attended community college followed by a few Sac State courses. It's unfortunate to say but UC Davis does not treat you like an individual. It takes an appointment in excess of two weeks to even see a major advisor (at Sac State it was drop in) for 15 minutes. Most courses are extremely large (400-500 people), and its hard to get the classes you need. My main complaint is that courses are almost alyways curved so that a very small percentage of students (aprx 5%) get an A. Even if you do extremely well in a course you often end up with a B. I really wish I had opted for a private university where the education would have been better and the grades would have been a better reflection of your understanding of the subject mater.

Question
This university is pathetic.Quite BrightChemistry
This university is pathetic. If you want an education, to excell at your given major when compared to others in your field, don't come here for undergraduate work. They do not give a damn about undergrads. They cram 400 to 500 undergraduate students in a classroom. You rarely if ever get to talk to a professor. They do not offer sufficient sections of important classes. Second quarter chemistry (CHE128B) offers one section for a school of 30,000. BS.

Question
Hi, I work at UC Davis.Super Brilliant
Hi, I work at UC Davis. I haven't completed the survey, so I haven't affected the ratings. I'm chiming in because we've done student surveys through the Student Affairs Research & Information unit (http://sariweb.ucdavis.edu) that shows overwhelmingly that students that take initiative to get involved tend to love UC Davis, and students that are here looking to get entertained do not leave nearly as satisfied. You may want to factor in your own personality when considering whether to attend here.
