I'm a transfer student from a Sac StateSuper BrilliantMath
I'm a transfer student from a Sac State and I loved my first quarter here. I got good professors and I felt like we went through a good chunk of material. Part of reason I decided to transfer here is that I felt that we weren't going through enough of the material in my math classes at Sac State. I can't comment of the social life since I don't social ize at all. But I do know the recreaction center is top notch.

Question
This is my second year at Davis.Quite BrightSociology
This is my second year at Davis. To tell you the truth, I've enjoyed my every single moment here. My dorm experience was absolutely wonderful -- I made a lot of friends of different cultures and personalities. Everyone is so eager to get to know you. DC (dinning commons) was great as well. I think I had freshman 30 or something. It's really hard not to gain weight when you can even have buffet for late-night snack.

With few exceptions, UCD professors are mostly friendly and helpful. Many of them teach with their hearts and passion. Remember to go to office hours. Get to know your profs more. Most of them are thrilled to talk to you and get feedback from students.

However it's also easy not to make friends here, especially for transfer students. In this case they should definitly join some student clubs/organizations. Check out some of the fellowships. Also, trt to be open and honest to people -- many people at Davis will love you for who you are!

there's nothing more fun than biking here. Davis is really biker-friendly. And the tress here! They're everywhere and make the air soooo fresh and good. UCD is a hidden jewel among all UCs. It offers you not only lifetime friendship but also great knowledge. Come and see!

Question
Overall my experience at UC Davis was aQuite BrightBiology
Overall my experience at UC Davis was a guardedly positive one. I did expect the courses to be more challenging than they actually were. I noticed a sharp disparity in the intellectual requirements between classes in majors like biology (harder) versus psychology (unbelievably easy). I think the education I got was a good one, though it could have been better; I also could have sailed through without learning a whole lot. The professors and TAs were a mixed bag - some were wonderful and some were absolutely awful.
