I cannot honestly recommend Pensacola Christian College toQuite BrightOther
I cannot honestly recommend Pensacola Christian College to anyone. I do not find the course work challenging and the general education classes such as "College Algebra 1," "College Algebra 2," "History of Civilization 1&2," "American Literature," "Biological Science," are high school level at best. And the College Algebra 1 is more like middle-school level math.

Also, if you plan on attending PCC, I hope you enjoy deep cleaning and attending a lot of church services. I don't mind the daily room jobs like cleaning the toilet, taking out the trash, and cleaning the sinks. However, their standards for cleaning the shower is ridiculous. They literally expect the shower to be 100% dry, no mold, no powdery residue from cleaning chemicals, and it must "squeak" when you rub your finger against the tile. It takes forever to clean the showers to that level.

And the thing that bothers me the most about Pensacola is that you do not have the freedom to choose to go to a different church. You are forced to go to their church services on Sunday. And chapel is a required daily activity as well. I highly advise not going to this college if you are a Christian of a denomination other than Conservative Baptist. Pensacola is a bad experience overall. It has poor academics, excessive rules, and excessive control over your personal/spiritual life.

Question
I've already posted a comment but I wantedMath
I've already posted a comment but I wanted to say a few more things that I feel are important to the reader. I came to PCC because I wanted to find God. I considered myself a Christian and I wanted to learn more about the bible and get spiritual as well as academic education. So your question may be did I find God? Do I feel closer to Him since I went to a Christian institution? My answer is no. PCC made me dead to religion and anything spiritual and changed my views completely. I was afraid to go to a secular university because everyone always told me they try to skew your thoughts and beliefs. Well PCC did just that. To be honest with you I can't even explain completely how they did it, but I know fellow college students who are there and live and see it everyday are the only ones who can understand my thoughts and feelings. If you dare to find out then go...maybe its the best. But if there really is a God (and I'm not sure about that anymore), I can't imagine Him wanting somebody like me who was searching open hearted for Him, to go to a place like PCC. I stopped praying my sophomore year and despite the good friends and spiritual influences, it still did not stop my faith from diminishing. One thing PCC did not take from me though is my will (even though they constantly talk about braking the will of students is God's will). And even though I am no longer a Christian I still believe in doing whats right. (That does not include only wearing skirts, and judging others). It does include standing for whats right in my country, loving others, helping the poor and others in need, and helping young people stay away from drugs, violence, ect.

Question
What this campus needs is a peaceful demonstrationQuite BrightBiology
What this campus needs is a peaceful demonstration or protest. Although protesting is an American right, it is grounds for immediate expulsion @ PCC. Everything involving PCC is maintained. Even the reviews here on studentsreview. Many of the positive reviews in the past month or so have been fake. The Administration realized that there were too many negative comments about the school, and asked alumni in good standing to post positive reviews. Students are not allowed to post or reveal their real interests, music choices, movie choices, life choices, and clothing choices on Myspace or Facebook. Students who wish to voice their honest opinions on facebook and myspace about the school risk immediate expulsion as well. Another American right( freedom of speech and the press) are also not allowed and discouraged as "Ungodly or un-biblical" if it goes against PCC's staunch stand on many issues.

PCC was meant for students who have grown up in very restrictive homes and raised as protected and sheltered environments. The BIGGEST REASONS that students end up at PCC is due to its very cheap price, and the friendships that are formed due to the "pressure-cooker" environment.

If you can handle authority that is very close minded and extremely regulatory than PCC might be a school that would interest you. If you worry about attending an accredited school than PCC is not for you. But if you do end up attending PCC, keep a good GPA in case you get kicked out. The University of West Florida will more than likely take your credits from PCC. UWF is one of the few institutions that understand the dilemma that PCC students are coming from. Oh I forgot. Pensacola, FL is a very nice, small city. There are plenty of things in Pensacola to do when you finally find yourself outside the "Berlin" walls of PCC. I rated the city life poorly due to the fact that students of PCC are restricted access to many local events and festivals, and discouraged to become a part of the Pensacola, FL area.
