I taught here and was treated well -Quite BrightDesign Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc
I taught here and was treated well - I decided to teach at a better school.
Some advice:
- Ask VERY had questions about the department you are considering - the quality is VERY erratic.
- Look at the faculty - do they REALLY have industry experience? Is their Masters degree from SCAD?
- The admissions department is slick - be very careful.
- SCADs reputation is self-generated - most events are to enhance the SCAD brand - not students.
- Admission is open - if you get into better school - go - the better school is better for a reason - better student, faculty, standards.

- Savannah is dangerous and SCAD security has no ability to save you

Question
SCAD-Atlanta was easy to get in but stayingAverageArt & Design Department
SCAD-Atlanta was easy to get in but staying in is the problem. Coming in as a freshmen with no type of art background scared me. Fortunately my arrogant Drawing I teacher couldn't bring down my lack of drawing skills. I really believe if you research your teachers then you will come out successful. I honestly did not learn anything in Drawing I and I choose to pick the same teacher for Drawing II. Big Mistake. I finally choose someone else for Life drawing and found out he was a wonderful teacher. Unfortunately he had to teach me all the foundations again but it was worth it. PLEASE RESEARCH YOUR TEACHER!!!!!!

Coursework is very crazy but all relevant to the class. If you do it on time and don't rush, You will have fun and really enjoy it. I suck at time management but I made time for my final project and Loved it.

If you don't like being in the class then do online. Online is AMAZING. I took Art History I AND II online and it was great. I check in every other day and everything was always due on Sunday.

I am a fashion Design major and I took one fashion class so far and the rumors you here are true. The sewing machines make you cry because they have a mind of their own.

Overall I kinda love SCAD. The money is put towards the nice facility in ATLANTA. The bathrooms are beautiful. I would live in the bathroom verses the freshmen dorms :)

The teachers are friendly ans very approachable. The students come off as snooty but are very friendly and crazy as well. I hope this was helpful.

Question
This school was weird, it felt like aQuite BrightCommunications
This school was weird, it felt like a cult that people belonged to, where everyone who was a member thought nothign but amazing things about this school that, was A) created by non-artists and somehow owned almost 90% of Savannah.

2) As someone who ahs spent several summers at art camps, everyone was dressed straight out of an A+F catalouge, I'mf rom California so maybe that's the south, women still wearing gloves and pearls when they go out on a sunday morning...I felt like I was transported back to 1965 or something.

People of Savannah are VERY rude, disrespectful and will stare you down if you're not wearing plain colours, or ugly clothing. I guess that's the south too, still arrogant and not over the Civil War. Doing research I discovered that a teacher had set himself on fire, his body was discovered by a stduent, a stduent jumped to their death on top of the Hilton hotel, a stduent was shot in the head in one of the droms, and another was raped in their own dorm. SCAD hides and tries to hide all bad info on them...DON'T GO TO THIS SCHOOL, it isn't an art school, they have sport teams for god sakes, art school kids don't play sports...mean people, in a mean town, HELL NO.
