SCAD is a great school with excellent resourcesQuite BrightFine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc
SCAD is a great school with excellent resources to get you where you want to be in life. The classes are hard, but you will get what you put in as lame as that sounds. Make sure that you explore different majors because SCAD offers many different majors that you might not even know about, and some of the smaller majors are the best!

Question
Some majors are better organized than others, butBrightDesign Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc
Some majors are better organized than others, but I'd say the school is always working to get a better experience for it's students. The networking alone is almost enough to attend. They have connections with a lot big names and the visiting companies and artist are a big plus. The biggest complaint maybe the structure of courses. Having three semesters with 3 classes a semester is a large amount of work that often feels rushed. The school leans on the idea that getting a job is of course the highest priority, but at the expense of really being able to hone your skill while attending. I know many people who feel that they will have to take a year or two after graduation just to finally collect everything they learned to produce quality work (while a majority of their work done at school was just rushed through to meet requirements and deadlines on time).

Most teachers have real world experience and are willing to provide personalized help with your portfolio, though there are many classes you'll wonder if you're only wasting time when you could be concentrating on your passion. Some teachers can be bias and are extremely questionable as for their teaching credentials, but I suppose every school has to have a couple of those. As far as the location, Savannah is a beautiful city, but crime is a big problem, especially for the careless out-of-towner. Bars and historic tourist attractions are the biggest social draws of the area.

Question
Okay, so I'm noticing a lot of trashyBrightOther
Okay, so I'm noticing a lot of trashy comments towards SCAD - honestly, I think it depends on the type of person you are, and the professors you choose. Yes, the food here sucks (rumors on improvement though?), the dorms could be better, and it's not the safest area, but, with common sense when you're out and about, etc, it's bearable. Picking the right professors is important. Ratemyprofessor.com is SUPER-helpful and I use it every time I choose my classes. I never regret my choices, I have had so many inspiring and fantastic professors here and I think they're worth every cent. I'm a double-major in Animation and Sequential, so I can speak for both those departments - you will get your money's worth in eduacation for those. I've also had great foundation teachers.

Most of the students here are really friendly too, you can start a conversation with most people, yes there are some snooty arrogant types, etc... but most of the kids here are pretty pleasant so it helps a lot. Overall I'm really enjoying my time here, it can be extremely stressful since classes are crammed into 10 weeks but you learn a lot.
