Positive Negative Neutral Advice
I came into college wanting a great experienceQuite BrightOther
I came into college wanting a great experience meeting great people, getting involved and having an overall great time. If you are looking for a normal college experience do not come here. No one lives on campus, and for the most part the people who do are not friendly, very hipster and just not normal. I have found very little people that I have connected with, and I consider myself to be a normal, outgoing and successful student. I have found very little people who care about their studies and are not passionate about anything.

Classes are very boring and profs give lots of busy work. I felt more challenged in high school. Try to get into the honors program if you do come here.

To sum it up, if you want a typical positive college experience where you feel a sense of community on campus, enjoy meeting normal and social people and are challenged academically DO NOT GO TO DEPAUL. I am transferring as soon as I can.

Question
I love the education system at depaul, IQuite BrightCommunications
I love the education system at depaul, I love the quarter system and the teachers are great. I also absolutely love Lincoln Park and being a train ride away from anywhere in Chicago. However, there is no sense of community at DePaul. Everyone comes from wealth (myself not included) and it is very hard to find approachable people. No one goes to basketball games, no one wears depaul wear, it just isn't what college should be. The dorms aren't social and not many people are involved in organizations. There is no sense of "wow I love my school." Half my friends already transferred and I am considering it. Too bad because I wish so much that I would love it, but I don't.

Question
I'm currently a freshman at DePaul.BrightPsychology
I'm currently a freshman at DePaul. I grew up in the suburbs and have always loved the city, and that hasn't changed. I'm very disappointed in DePaul. Besides the professors I've had, the staff in every department from financial aid to the dining halls are incredibly rude. There's virtually nothing to do on campus. DePaul is NOT a party school. In fact, most people do more partying in high school than at DePaul. The teachers in the Psychology department are all awesome. I'll be transferring at semester and will really miss them.Overall, DePaul is a nice school. The faculty and campus are all great. The student life is less than satisfactory. People are usually snobby girls or frat boys who didn't get in to any state schools. For the money, you could get a much better college education and a better experience.
