Instructional staff for the most part is approachable. Unfortunately, there are a few "pocket Hitlers" among the faculty who seem to enjoy their own aggrandizement and ignore the needs of the students. School could also work on putting its money where its mouth is. If there is a legitimate problem with a professor, someone should have the guts to do something. Otherwise, this is NOT they way "college should be."

“Do not be drawn in to ISU byBright
Do not be drawn in to ISU by it's perceived "small-campus" feel. It is a small campus with large campus problems. Do not expect to be able to get anything done with the administration without first getting a handful of wrong answers and being sent between a plethera of different offices. Also, the mood of a lot of the staff and students is very depressing. The instructors (if you find the right ones) are the exception to this rule. By all means stay away from the HIST 300 instructor and do anything possible to get into Dr. Lay's english courses.
