Tulane is a lot of fun; the freshmenQuite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
Tulane is a lot of fun; the freshmen dorms are pretty crappy except for Wall, but you need to write an extra essay to get into Wall and it really shows in the types of people who end up there. There aren't too many people, so you can see friends around campus sometimes, but enough so that you don't have to. There are people from all around the country, including decent Asian and Indian student populations. There are also many very Christian southerners. The thing about Tulane is that almost everyone likes to party, and the NOLA atmosphere really allows it all to happen. The school administration has really been cracking down on greek life lately, which basically eliminates fraternity parties. They won't go down without a fight though, and they still have active rushing and pledging programs. As far as the weather goes, it is often very humid and it rains a lot, but it almost never gets cold. The campus is nice, with huge, old trees with expansive branches. Across St. Charles Avenue is Audubon Park and Audubon Zoo.

Question
I am a senior Engineering turn mathematics majorQuite BrightMath
I am a senior Engineering turn mathematics major after the Renewal Plan. I am a student at Tulane completely on scholarship. Although I am funded, Tulane has always gone the extra mile to screw me over. Additional tuition, screwy accounting resulting in unknown charges, and other misc. have hurt my perception of the school. After engineering was cut, the school made no effort to accomodate students who chose to stay due to special circumstances. Lagniappe semester was especially fun- after being told Katrina semester full-time students would receive it free, I was charged tuition since I was my host Katrina quarter-based school was full time wasn't full time in the semester system. On a positive note, the campus is always well-kept and feels very safe. If you are a local student (LA), I do not recommend Tulane. There are better experiences to be had.

Question
Coming to Tulane was probably the best decisionBrightFinance
Coming to Tulane was probably the best decision I ever made. The campus is beautiful (if you haven't visited, come see for yourself), New Orleans is the most fun city in the country, the people are great, and it's a great school academically.

As a finance major, I take a lot of my classes in the business school, which is by far the nicest building on campus. Not only that, but Tulane has one of the best business programs in the country, and offers many unique opportunities for students to learn in the workplace.

I just find it amazing that Tulane University has ranked as one of the best universities in the country the past few years. If you love to party, but know how to get your work done, this is the place for you. I've talked to my high school buddies, and they all think they are having fun at their respective schools, but in reality they go out maybe once or twice a week (probably on the weekend) to bars closing at 1, MAYBE 2 AM? The Boot bar closes at around 6am I think, and then afterwards you can go to the palms until about 8am. If you're not a fan of bars there are tons of fraternity parties/house parties. The best part is, there's always people out, regardless of what time is, or what day it is. I remember coming to visit two years ago, and I was just amazed by the amount of partying when someone came up to me and said, "yeah, it's finals week, so things are kind of slow". I was in awe.Basically, if you want to go to a good school, have insane amounts fun, and try new things (I went to my first Lil' Wayne concert like 2 weeks ago, he came to Tulane!) then come check out Tulane.
