Well, I can certainly say that coming toBrightMusic - Performance
Well, I can certainly say that coming to visit in April of 2007 was much much different than living/going to school here. It was a very candy-coated arrival, complete with President Cowen's lovely speech (and it really was good,) but all too peppy.

So meanwhile, I find that nearly e.v.e.r.y.b.o.d.y I know here either goes out every night and drinks until they're sick of does some sort of street drug. It's scary.

THe academics? Sometimes they can be challenging, it's different than high school. Most of the homework you do is for your OWN benefit, and not for padding haha.

Honestly though, I feel that my time at tulane has been somewhat of a waste and that for my major (vocal performance) it has not been the best university. For many people I know here they love it, I cannot say the same.

Being successful at Tulane requires one to havePsychology
Being successful at Tulane requires one to have great time management skills. There is always something going on in New Orleans, and the students at Tulane must learn quickly how to create a balance between academics and their social lives. A lot of people will claim that Tulane has a homogenous student body, and they're right. It can be tough to fit in if you don't fit the mold, but not impossible. The "outcasts" of Tulane seemed to find each other and do just fine.

It's an incredible school set in an amazing city. I truly can't speak highly enough about the school - the true testament to the character of the school (as seen through the faculty and staff) is that when students were sent all over the US after Katrina, almost everyone came back! They all saw immediately when they were at other institutions exactly how great they had it at Tulane. The faculty are engaging, the coursework interesting and fun and the students are friendly and hospitable.
