Question
I am only a freshman and coming intoBrightUndecided
I am only a freshman and coming into this school I liked how it was small because I am used to a small high school and close community where the teachers genuinely care about how well you do in class. I do not get that here at all. When you have a problem professors are condescending and rude. They are not helpful and could careless about your gpa and how well you end up doing in their class. They are nice in class but when you need something outside of class I have never been more disappointed with teachers in my life. Coming here really makes me appreciate the faculty at my high school and I am transferring next semester.

Question
The reviews on this school baffle me.Quite BrightUndecided
The reviews on this school baffle me. The majority of students here are from the same areas: New Jersey, New York, Long Island, with some other northern folks scattered about. When walking down hallways and walkways, students pass each other and ask "Are you going out tonight?" meaning the bars. This is a bar and alcohol-oriented school. Sure, the academics are great. The teachers really care and attempt to assist at every possible chance. The social life, however, falls short.

If you are not from the areas mentioned above, there is little to no chance of finding likeminded people, unless you are into partying and being loud, drunk, and belligerent. Weekends at Loyola are empty. There is almost nothing to do on weekends with the exception of some activities that occur about once a month. Coming as an out of state student from anywhere other than the North is VERY difficult. Students at Loyola tend to conform in order to fit in. Almost every night of the week, somebody will be going to get drunk. Loud antics in residence halls nearly every night, especially bad on the weekends.

Do not attend this school if you do not want to conform to a destructive lifestyle. The school itself is great, but Loyola has lost something in selectivity that allows its students to maintain normal conversation without speaking about their favorite brand of alcohol or getting smashed the night before. Most students lack substance at Loyola. If all students were studious and took into consideration how much money is actually being spent to go there (around $50,000+) I'm sure their outlook would be different. People just aren't real here, they are caught in the lifestyle this school contains. It doesn't get much better as you speak to sophomores, juniors, or seniors, either.
