Positive Negative Neutral Advice
I decided to come here because it isAveragePolitical Science
I decided to come here because it is suppousdly now compared to MSU and UofM, but I don't see how this comparision is made. Some straight up dumb people get into this school, and it's alot like high school. It could be just because I am a freshmen and taking gen eds, but the work load is still light. The people on campus are extremly nice. You can talk to pretty much anyone. The food is good at first, but then once welcome week is over they pull out some shit on you. There isn't alot of partys rather drinking in you dorm with your friends, and alot of people smoke weed and do other drugs. The cops are physco so gvsu screws themselves over by having a dry campus and being in the middle of nowhere. Allendale is close to downtown, but no one wants to take that shitty poo poo bus. You need a car to get away. It's easy to get in a clique of friends, but that can be a great thing. Overall GVSu is better than high school, but I feel I could be having a better college experience elsewhere.

Question
Besides for the negativity I am about toBrightBusiness - Management and Administration
Besides for the negativity I am about to lay on GVSU, I must admit GVSU is a beautiful campus with great freshmen buildings, dining halls, and academic buildings. That is about as positive as it gets. In reality GVSU sucks high schoolers into coming here by the beauty of the campus. The school is a business and they are out to make money and make themselves look good on paper. Once they get you here you are a number!

Like the other reviews, there is absolutely no social life at this school. Everyone goes home on the weekends and partying is not an option due to the SWAT-like tactics by the Ottawa county police to hand out MIPs.

Another positive that I forgot about is the female student population. There are very attractive girls at this school, but again everyone goes home on the weekend so you have to meet people in class or randomly on campus. I am leaving this boring-ass farm country school, and would consider prospective students to realize the school is great at marketing to incoming students. Its not what it seems and don't get sucked in like what I did. Academics are very mediocre. Plenty of other great schools in MI.
