If you're just looking for a college experienceQuite BrightEnglish
If you're just looking for a college experience and not necessarily looking to be educated this is the place for you. There are plenty of good teachers, but you have to sek them out. A lot of the teachers have an incredibly bloated opinion of themselves and have not yet realized that they teach at SMS, not Princeton. The honors program is the only thing that has kept me from transferring to another school. Luckily I'm not paying a cent to go here, so I'm not losing anything to this lovely institution.

Question
As with most things, you will get outJournalism
As with most things, you will get out of your education what you put in. If you breeze through to get out and get a degree with mediocrity, then that's what will meet you when you're done. At SMS, there are PLENTY of opportunities to gain experience and knowledge outside of the classroom that will put you ahead of the rest of the pack. For journalism students, there are opportunities with a student newspaper (which I did, which provided INVALUABLE experience!), a radio station, television station and magazine. The same is true for most other programs. SMS itself is a beautiful campus and there is ALWAYS something going on. Springfield is a great town, and although I've moved around several times in my life, I plan on moving back there very soon to possible settle down. I had no problems getting a job...as a matter of fact, I received three job offers before I had even graduated, and all the jobs were entry level journalist positions...I had my pick of three jobs!! Work hard, get involved and make the most of it! I did, and gained so much from my four years at SMS that I've now applied for grad school to go for a Master's Degree. Go Bears!

Question
Hurt Me... I had to join the AirVideo/Media
Hurt Me... I had to join the Air Force because of economic slump in the art/media fields. Things didn't work out in the military and now I am honorable discharged and unemployed. I hope to find something soon though.. I don't like the teacher/student cliques that occur at SMSU. Some of the faculty/professors tend to only like above average students that will make there programs look good.. example, the Animation Dept and Art Dept. Very picky and snooty.. They have been previously investigated for not allowing perfectly good quailfying student be able to join the admission to certain degree programs. Be careful with this school. It has some problems..
