I am currently a grad student in ElectricalComputer Science
I am currently a grad student in Electrical Engineering at Univ. of Southern California and work full time a very large firm in Southern California. I received my undergraduate degree at Wash. U.

Wash U is one of the best schools I've ever attended. The quality of the students and faculty in Computer Science is world-class. In college I was just average relative to my peers, but in the real world, my education really stood out. I work in LA where I am a star engineer. My understanding of Computer Science is so much deeper and more theoretical than my peers. I understand the material much better than any of my peers.. I grew up in a poor family and I had to take out all loans to go to wash u, my parents couldn't even afford books. It was worth every cent, the best investment I've ever made. Financially, I went from rags to riches. I am literally living the American Dream. I feel like I can afford anything. And at the age of 23, I can afford to pay the full tuition for my sister's medical school education too.

People are surprised, they've never heard of Wash U, but the students really shine when they come out. I really have to work to prove myself, whereas students from better schools are automatically assumed to be more "intelligent" and more often than not fall short.

In short, Wash U was a great place. Unlike schools in california like USC, Wash U is very uncommercialized. The professors are really dedicated and the research is not driven by industry and money but by pure interest in the material. At USC, the topics taught are much more shallow and the people are less interested in research and more interested in money. In general, if you are thinking of Wash U, it's an excellent choice. Your education will be equal to if not surpass the standards set by more famous schools.

The students are extremelyQuite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
The students are extremely driven and pragmatic, with many entering the professional world post-graduation. Everyone around you works hard, but the weekends are relaxed. Like all small schools the social life does not compare to any state schools.

There seem to be wide variety of people here. Frat people, granola people, nerdy people, so it seems like most people could find a place to fit in. The pre-med program is fairly competitive and people can be unfriendly in this arena. The campus is pretty nice and the food is very good. I have had mostly excellent professors.
