Wash U seems to be the most underratedBrightEnglish
Wash U seems to be the most underrated college in the nation. I have only heard amazing things from current undergrads and alums. Similarly, nearly every student I have met at Wash U could not love a place more. Seniors are sad to leave and freshman are thrilled to become a part of the Wash U community. Being at Wash U fosters all things great. Additionally, you will never find nicer students.

Question
Washington University's 12,187 students represent all 50 staQuite BrightBiology
Washington University's 12,187 students represent all 50 states. Students and faculty come from more than 110 international locations. Approximately 89 percent of undergraduates come from outside Missouri; 57 percent come from more than 500 miles away. However, the name recognition is very low. Great school but if you mention it to your friends and their parents (unless they are doctors) they might not have a clue.

For Fall 2001, 12,672 applied and 788 enrolled. Also, ranked in USNews 2002 as number 12. A very selective school, in my opinion.

Not in the city, (so if you want city go to Penn. (University of Pennsylvania) or NYU etc). Suburban but nice--in front of Brookings (the building in most fo WashU's brochure) is Forest Park (bigger than Central Park in NYC--however, I still love NYC so I still like Central Park). Great for runners. Therefore, one can find stuff to do if you want to.

Not great for sports or fans (better go to Norte Dame. GO Fighting Irish! My sis goes there.)
Financial Aid is not that great... you have a better chance if you are a minority to apply to their minority scholarships like Ervin for Blacks, and Rodriguez for hispanics.

Pre-meds are everywhere. (high ranking of WashU med school)Also, the opportunities to do research is easy--if research is water, WashU is an ocean. WashU is good...but take my word--visit and see yourself. Pick the college that gives you the best vibe, greatest bumbers of opportunities and experience.
