The students here are insanely capable.BrightBiology
The students here are insanely capable. I was no slouch in high school, and was fortunate enough to earn a perfect SAT score, yet I'm often dazzled by the level of performance at which my peers operate. This is a school where you'll either sink or swim, but fortunately if you sink there are counselors and deans who WILL do their best to help you out. You will never feel like you're treated like a number, and in general the school has a great vibe. There is implicit trust between students because every knows that each other has slain their share of dragons. Barring the odd nut, most students are modest, accommodating, and all around fascinating and fascinated individuals.

OF NOTE: Duke University has perhaps the most beautiful campus of any school out there. The architecture is stunning, and every day at class is a trip through a Gothic wonderland. Highly recommended, though not for everyone. If you didn't get in, be thankful that you didn't. I feel that the admissions office has done a great job forming a student body that's able to make things work.

My time at Duke has been incredible.Super BrilliantOther
My time at Duke has been incredible. I come home to my friends who go to other universities, and I just feel sorry for them. Unlike other top universities, Duke is warm and friendly, and also has normal, nice people and a great athletics program. It is undoubtedly the best university in the South, and overall one of the best in the world. Unlike Vanderbilt which has very arrogant students and is like a country club, Duke maintains a vibe of southern hospitality without being ostentatious.

These past two years have been the bestQuite BrightHistory/Histories (art history/etc.)
These past two years have been the best in my life. I have made amazing friends and have really close relationships with several of my professors. The professors I have encountered are willing to work with you and want to help you succeed.

The social life here is wonderful. I have grown so much as a person and have definitely made life long friends.
