Overall UNL is a great school and LincolnBrightArt & Design Department
Overall UNL is a great school and Lincoln is a definite college town. Campus is right next to downtown and the haymarket so tons of eating/drinking/shops are walking distance. Beautiful campus when it's not covered in snow. Friendly people, students aren't very diverse since many are from the midwest but it creates a close-knit student body. Big greek school! Many greeks are also very involved on campus and hold positions in extracurricular activities. There is a big divide between greeks and non-greeks. The entire state of Nebraska worships Nebraska football, treat the players like celebrities...it's the only type of entertainment that has a solid history and success in Nebraska. Party animals. Many wild parties, tons of bars on O street, crazy football game days.

I would say a lot of professors are high on themselves, but at least most of them have a reason to be. While not all are necessarily the best instructors, they are all highly intelligent and very successful outside of their teaching. Advisors suck, take the time yourself to look into classes to fill your generals..there's TONS of options but advisors will basically place you in whatever.I am in the Fine Arts college which has a strong program. You take visual lit before your art classes...VERY VERY intense, but solid program that makes you a much better artist. The art college is small, I'm close with my professors and my education has surpassed my expectations. IF you want to pursue art I definitely recommend UNL, HOWEVER... if you are wanting to emphasize in graphic design I highly, highly, highly encourage you to go elsewhere. The program and professors are horrible, I have wasted soo much money on that program! Bad structure, no good feedback on your work, lazy professors...they hardly even teach. 95% of the design students feel this way, there are people pushing towards change but who knows when it will turn around. The only reason I am not completely bitter about coming to UNL is due to the rest of my positive experience. The rest of the art department has made up for the mess of graphic design courses. Also, outside of classes I enjoy everything about UNL.

Question
I LOVE this school.BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
I LOVE this school. The atmosphere is awesome, def has that midwestern feel. I would not go anywhere else. The school is very focused on the students. Facilities are either new or recently remodeled or in the process of beign remodeled. Resources are bountiful, campus is not spread out like other schools, you can walk anywhere within ten minutes. The dining halls even cook Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for students, oh and for dead week they do all kids of things for you. Free stress relief things like massages, video game tournaments, treats like donuts and candy. Also, the fan base from students is awesome. Alot of diversity in the student group, lots of people from all over the country as well as people from many different countries.

If you have theBrightBiology
If you have the chance to going into th sciences, than do not chose UNL... you're a fish in the sea ... plus you're treated like a "high school" student... not an adult.
