Attending marist has been one of the bestAverageBusiness - Management and Administration
Attending marist has been one of the best decisions i have ever made. this school is amazing. everyone is nice and it is easy to find a group of friends that you fit into. after only a few days at the school i found my friends that i will have the rest of my life. one thing i didnt know before attending was that marist is a party school. i hear people in my dorm going out at any given night of the week, with the exception of sundays and mondays. when we go out, everyone dresses up every time. i think that makes it fun and its one of the reasons i like partying here so much. everyone is crazy and fun to be around. classes are challenging but the faculty here is very helpful, easy to talk to, and they do truely care about how you do in each class. i am from connecticut and i thought that i would only meet a bunch of kids from new york connecticut and new jersey at marist. i ended up becoming best friends with a girl from hawaii and meeting people from colorado, california, jamaica and other places far from the school. i would recomend marist to anybody, because i truely feel that everyone can have their place at this school and enjoy the same good experiences that i have. i am just happy i still have another three years here!

Question
I am a graduating senior and I cannotQuite BrightBiology
I am a graduating senior and I cannot tell you how bittersweet this moment is to me. I have enjoyed every moment of my time here at Marist (even when I was on academic probation). The staff here really treat you like a person, not just another cog in the wheel. If you read comments that saw otherwise it's because that person wasn't right for Marist. If you are introverted, spoiled and expect people to kiss your ass at every moment go somewhere else. This is not the school for you. If you won't apply yourself in class and have a thirst for knowledge then yes, you won't do well here. I've noticed comments about affirmative action and I can tell you, it's not what you think. Historically, affirmative action has benefited white females at Marist college, not minorities. So don't listen to anyone who tells you that if you're a minority you're guaranteed a spot in the incoming class. You have to work just as hard and prove yourself equally. The reason why some people with great grades dont get in is because ALL colleges take from different tiers. Great grades aren't an indication of other types of intelligence so don't rely on those alone. Do community service and be an active member of your community. Visit the school as much as possible to get acquainted and get the admissions counselors to know you (it helps a lot!). And yes, there are tons of white people here. White people are everywhere, deal with it. I'm black and I've been fine here. It prepares you for the real world so it's not a big deal.

Question
I went to marist for 2 years butQuite BrightCommunications
I went to marist for 2 years but i had to transfer out. Their comm department was vastly overrated. I switched my major because it wasnt working for me and their journalism department wasnt much better. I tried for 2 years to get an internship but career services was unhelpful. The campus was pretty because it was on the water but that got old after the first week of school. The dorms were small and the surrounding area sucked. There are no parties on campus excpet lame apartment parties and there are about 3 bars that people go to but it gets expensive and gets old. You see the same people in the bars that already have their cliques established so no one really talks to anyone besides their group of friends. I thought i wanted a small school but this wasn't great because everyone had their cliques. The bars are also lame because if your ID gets rejected, they take it and there goes any fun you can have. Being at marist gets you stuck with the same kinds of people. They are all pretty stupid and can't seem to hold any kind of conversation. it is actually very ad. If you want to go to college to challenge yourself academically and actually learn and better yourself...dont go to marist. It is a pretty school and the idea of being freshman causes people to like it but academcially the school does not care much about their students, they want your money. The party scene also does start to get old so by junior year a lot of my friends just go home because they are all from long island or new jersey. If you can get into a better school, go there because half the places i tried to intern with asked where marist was and most of my internships were in rockland county and new york city which were only an hour away so it killed almost any chance for the job that kids from NYU, Seton Hall, Hofstra, and other known schools in the area got.
