University Buffalo

For the price (free, with a Regents scholarship), SUNY/Buffalo was a great deal for me. It got me into a good law school (Georgetown), and thus a great career. I left that career to be a mom, but I could always go back in some capacity. If I'd had the money, though, I would have gone to a small private college, because there's more individual attention at such a school. That's where I've sent my son (Case Western Reserve), and there is a real difference in the level of attention he gets, compared to my experience.

Alumnus Male -- Class 2000

It was difficult to complete coursework at this school because of constant parking problems to deal with day after day after day. These are axacerbated by the crime in the surrounding area which, in my case resulted in cars and equipment being stolen. On top of all this the school erased many parking spots by the addition of a student athletics center. Public transportation from the suburbs is non existent, or dangerous, or excessively time consuming. FInancial aid is non existent and causes many students sign up for courses before finding out if financial aid is available. This results in having to pay for courses with money that does not exist. Students are frequently qualified to receive financial aid, but the funds were depleted or gone long ago. Financial aid application deadlines are deceptive, so that students miss deadline with which they could not be aware. On top of all this, the major I took was barely recognizeable or relevant in employment departments.
