Because Ohio State is so very large, thereQuite BrightHistory/Histories (art history/etc.)
Because Ohio State is so very large, there is quite a variety. You will get a mixture of friendly and helpful professors, but just as many arrogant and unhelpful professors. The entire school is surrounded by what I refer to as the "Ohio State Bubble." Because everything is centered around THE Ohio State University in all of its football glory, I would not be surprised if you could not see the egotistical mania that has absorbed the students. Most of the staff in departments, especially financial aid, do not care. I have found the history department to be extremely helpful, whereas the English department (my former double major) was not at all. To be frank, Ohio State is a research institution. That is all that they are interested in because it will bring more glory to them. BEWARE IF YOU WANT TO BE A TEACHER! MAKE SURE YOU SEE WHAT THEY REQUIRE. SOMETIMES THEY MAKE YOU GET YOUR MASTER'S FIRST AND NO SCHOOL WILL HIRE YOU BECAUSE THEY ARE REQUIRED TO PAY YOU MORE WHEN YOU START!!!! If you are not interested in research, I would advise you to pick another school. Otherwise, it is the best choice in Ohio. Just be careful not to be absorbed and become egotistical like everyone else.

Question
I transferred to this university in hopes ofSuper BrilliantMath
I transferred to this university in hopes of accessing better education but instead, I ended up with exams over material NOT LECTURED. I have been under the impression that homework and quizzes are meant as a means of evaluating how a student stands on the material and if you feel the same, DO NOT TAKE MATHEMATICS, ESPECIALLY CALCULUS I 151 AND 152. I spent MANY nights (12 hours)attempting ONLINE AND OFFLINE homeworks that were due on the SAME day IN ADDITION to a QUIZ!! ALL ON THE SAME DAY! If you are taking fulltime classes, I STRONGLY encourage you to take these calculus course at Columbus State or some other university, ESPECIALLY if you think you are going to be tested over material that you are familiar with, REGARDLESS of your math background!! I had a STRONG math background and wanted a refresher, and it was a HUGE mistake, considering I paid over 2thousand dollars for this course!! SERIOUSLY, they won't change their methods unless people stop allowing the treatment.

Question
I was an Evolution major at OSU, butBrightBiology
I was an Evolution major at OSU, but that was not an option on the menu for this site. My major course work was fantastic and the professors were superb, helpful teachers. I completed a good deal of undergraduate research and got good letters of rec for grad school. Research opportunities are abundant, but not all of them are positive experiences. Drama and unprofessional attitudes were revealed by a catty staff and faculty, in a department rife with hatred. Look out! The politics will get you! Like anywhere you need to work to be noticed. Chemistry, math and physics classes are required, of course, and all of them contain hundreds of students and a few clueless, foreign TA's. You will struggle through these subjects unless you are already a master at them prior to taking them. Its a nightmare. The dorms were horrible. Overpriced, full of over tanned girls with pink colored shades and white lip gloss and a bunch of racist, meat-head hicks that chant "Go Bucks" at every opportunity. If you don't love country everything and football isn't your life, don't attend. Most of the people you meet will drop out or change their majors to something easier. Columbus is nice enough, but the buses stop running early if you want to escape campus. Good Luck!
