Ohio State University may not have the highest academic standards, but they are slowly getting better. The administration has spent a vast amount of funds towards renovation, construction and towards the general improvement of the university for the near future. However, I would have to say that OSU community is extremely friendly and inviting. It is one of the largest universities in the nation, so you will be able to find people like yourself if you try. The party and drinking at OSU is heavy, but these are staples of any large university. There is always something to do, either on campus or in the city of Columbus, which is accessible by commuter bus. As can be expected from a Big 10 school, football is a distinguished past time. Football days are fast and frantic; revelries commence in every facet of campus and the days when we play Michigan have to be seen to be believed. Ohio State is a university that gives true meaning to to 'working hard and playing hard'. If partying and having a good time is your niche, you don't have look further. Do expect to put in a certain amount of work in your classes though or you will be in for a rude awakening. The curriculum can be tough but it is managable if you are motivated and commited to your studies. Alot of people greatly underestimate the work expected at OSU and are thus either dropped from their initial majors or excused from the university all together. It is very important that you have a plan if you want to graduate within four years. Overall Ohio State is a great value for those that want to have some fun and also retain skills they can use for the rest of their professional lives.
