All in all, I couldn't be happier being here. There are some natural drawbacks to being at such a large school, but those are more than offset by the multitude of things to do both socially and academically. No matter your interests, you can find a place at OSU.

1st Year Male -- Class 2006

Social Life: A+, Individual Value: C+

Going to OSU was the best decision I've ever made. I have 15-20 good friends that went to other schools throughout the US and they all regret their choice for one reason or another. I don't know why anyone in Ohio would go to another school. The US News and every other major rankings index puts OSU #1 IN EVERY CATEGORY, from the school as a whole to all of its individual programs. The respect garnered for OSU is ubiquitous throughout the world, and the alumni network is fantastic. Other schools in Ohio (namely Miami and OU) think that they are on par or better than OSU, but when you get down to it they don't have nearly as many resources as OSU and the quality of their individual programs doesn't even come close. Plus, Columbus is on of the best cities to live in countrywide, and the resources available to students abound. You get great experience and you aren't closed off from the real world like most of the other schools in the state. And you also don't have to make your parents take out a second mortgage to pay for school. Even with the size of the school, there is a real sense of family and everyone is happy to be Buckeye. Potential employers also rate OSU tops in the state and always give preference to OSU grads. Simply put, if you have the opportunity to go to OSU, take it; it will be the best decision you ever make.
