Nothing about UC is perfect, but there areQuite BrightComputer Science
Nothing about UC is perfect, but there are no major problems with the university. You will not be babied in engineering, as more then half of the students who try to be engineers wind up switching majors or leaving, so there is certainly some competition. As long as you don't make serious mistakes in partying too much or ignoring your grades, you will be fine and glad you went to UC.

Question
I am in the Planning Department in theBrightArchitecture & Urban Planning Department
I am in the Planning Department in the highly competitive College of DAAP (Design, Art, Architecture, Planning). The students in the college of DAAP tend to be more liberal and open to new ideas than the overall student body and come from families in possession of greater sums of money than the average student.

Although undergrad Planning schools are not ranked (only grad schools are), professors assure us that our Planning Program would be number one because of the exposure to a design background rather than a strictly policy background.

Although DAAP is not not very bureaucratic and every faculty member within DAAP is easily accessible, the University onestop center is a disgusting piece of work. The people working for onestop are hostile, waiting to speak to a representative is time consuming, and then when one needs to access a certain department within the onestop center to inquire about something like a misprint on a bill, it is impossible to do so by phone. As there is a cap on tuition, the school increased all other fees to make up for the 'lost' revenue. A school error forced me to pay a $200 late fee! I really hate the bureaucratic mess at UC and would not recommend attending here unless you wish to deal with this mess.If you are interested in Planning, do what I should have done and go to Cal Berkeley, MIT, or Harvard.

Question
Cincinnati is a great city and it boastsBrightComputer Engineering
Cincinnati is a great city and it boasts a proud and powerful university in UC, but the administration is beuraucratic and unfriendly as I have deemed possible. That situation is more than frustrating for any long-term student and it is extreme, so little hope of change remains. Because of this and its high tuition price I would not return or recommend UC for undergraduate or graduate studies to a prospective student. There are several problem areas at UC, but in summary... a student is treated as a number and the campus is percevably rather unsafe - notoriously bad neighborhoods surround UC's Clifton area. Please look further, there are 1000s of universities in this nation alone. The summary of positives... is the university's strong emphasis on education, consequently yielding a formidable degree.
