There is a lot I could say aboutBright
There is a lot I could say about Cedar Crest School of Nursing, however I know when I was a prospective student I heard the horror stories and still decided to continue my education here. From an experienced Cedar Crest College School of Nursing student, all I can say is please DO NOT GO HERE. My friends from other nursing schools tell me all the time that Cedar Crest College School of Nursing is ridiculous. If you do not believe me, ask someone from the school their junior to senior year retention rate. Ask how many students need to be retract. Ask about their medication "proficiency" exams (really they're entrance exams). Ask a student about their mental health while in this school. Yes, you do learn a lot about nursing, but the cost is your mental and physical health. Also the teachers are not helpful, there are very few that I would call helping hands. Just 2 years ago they had a pharmacology teacher who was on drugs. They are always desperate for staff. Even the teachers make comments like "Cedar Crest needs to get their stuff together". The final course in the curriculum is very difficult and a lot of students end up not graduating on time, or at all if you have already used your final retake. If you do go here to Cedar Crest College School of Nursing and you get a "0" on a paper because your APA was not correct, please get a second opinion.

Just go to DeSales.
Faculty try to be helpful but their hands are tied by micromanaging administration. All the professors I felt really cared have left in my 2 years here. It is expensive!! And worst of all, we started with 60 people and now in our final class there are 28 of us... I don't know how many will fail, but last semester it was 17 of 34 who failed that last class. They are very proud of their NCLEX pass rate but do not publish the attrition rate. Easy to get in, hard to stay. Don't waste your money.

Question
While I'm aware that in this comment boxQuite BrightNursing
While I'm aware that in this comment box I am supposed to say both good and bad things about the nursing program at cedar crest, however I cannot tell you one good thing... THERE ARE NONE! I am becoming a nurse to help save people, so I feel I gotta save the youth of America by stating this: DO NOT GO TO CEDAR CREST COLLEGE FOR NURSING! Worst decision I have ever made in my life. Teachers? Absolutely useless. They cannot keep staff there that's how bad it is. Also other hospitals in the area are starting to ask what the hell is happening to that program because they are not teaching us the critical hands on skills that we need. save your money! They will also make you video tape each semester showing that you "know" how to do certain skills.... even though you actually just memorize a script. The materials they make you practice with are DISGUSTING DIRTY OLD and FALLING APART, because they make you reuse them. You actually have to dig through the garbage to retrieve your old materials so the next student can reuse them. Each time you fail a videotape you have to redo it and that costs you 50 dollars... which no one knows where that's goes (obviously not new materials to practice with). Worst school
