In general, the professors outside my major/minor are good too. The difference is that you are exposed to more Dominicans, who can refuse to see points of view different from the Catholic religion.
Within the Honors Program, the professors try quite hard to encourage students to learn for the sake of knowledge itself. A general sense of satisfaction with the college exists here.
The administration is the worst aspect of the school. They do not seem to understand what is going on in the school itself and instead approach everything from an outsider's point of view. Also under "administration" are the rules of the college. There is too much "red tape" to go through to accomplish anything, and the strict Catholic mission statement limits what students can be exposed to greatly.
The students are very wealthy and seem to be at school because it is simply the thing to do after high school. Very few enjoy learning and many make me question what the admission standards really are. Too many are closed minded. Too few are aware about the happenings in the "real world" and as a result are not actively involved in many things on campus. Many complain about situations on campus, for example diversity, but refuse to do anything to change the problems. They expect other people to pamper them and take care of all their needs. PC students are white, rich, lazy, and do the bare minimum to get by. This lack of motivation often discourages good class discussions.
The city of Providence is usually not taken advantage of by students, but it does exist and does offer many opportunities for entertainment. For example: museums, theaters, dancing, bars, movies, malls, IMAX, many restaraunts, ice skating. This is a division 1 school for athletics. This means athletes are frequently given special treatment, which is something I was not prepared for.
