I initially went to the UMHB for a semester only to later then transfer for 2nd semester at Baylor. Want advice? Do not go to UMHB if you enjoy good company with people who are open-minded. Personally if you expect to have a constant weekend get-a-way to Austin to party with your friends at UT, it's impossible with the loads of rules and incessant work they pile on you. I was drowning. And so will you if you are picking up any relevant prefrences as you are reading this. The school itself is pursuing none other than self-interest, both faculty and student body period. The students are highly religious and air-headed. Ther's no real competitive academic goals within one another, there's nothing decisive about the "people" here. With all honesty, my individual goal when putting up with this school fr a semester was to keep to myself and do the work. Which was impossible with the type of people they pile up on you for roommates... Go to a good school. Mary-Hardin Baylor is reject Baylor. Attend Ut, St. Edwards, Baylor etc. Good schools. Not this load of crap passed off as a Christian somewhat pretigious University-

Question
I attended multiple universities, both public and private,AverageEducation
I attended multiple universities, both public and private, and found UMHB by far the best school. UMHB was everything that I was looking for in a school. I really have no complaints. Some complain about "strict Christian standards" but this is a CHRISTIAN school. If a Christian college cannot have high moral standards who can? the public party school?

I read one review that said UMHB was just a good ol boy school for white males. They obviously did not go to the school, because over 2/3 of the student body is female!!! Some people just want to complain about the school, because they have a narrow view of what college should be like. i.e. party all night, sleep late, skip class, and still get a degree. I would suggest those people not go to college at all. That attitude is exactly why our society is in the shape that it is in today. There are way too many selfish people that find no worth in anything that is good or positive.

If you do not want to lead a good Christian life, then do not come to a school like UMHB and complain about how strict the school is. And how they "don't let you do anything". I think the ones crying "hypocrites" need to take a good look in the mirror.UMHB is a great school, great campus with great people, and you get a great education. Nothing is ever perfect, but UMHB was everything that I could have asked for.

If you're looking for a school that will break boundaries, teach you useful information, teach what the class is about, help you improve yourself, and be fun then stay away from UMHB. Attending UMHB is the worst decision I've ever made in my entire life (and I've done some dumb things). The classes are EXTEREMLY boring and biased. The type of education you get at UMHB isn't worth the money. I learned more at a public high school then I did while I was attending UMHB. Don't think of UMHB as a Universty think of it as a Corporation trying to make as much money off while giving you the worst education you could ever get. They fine you for anything and everything!

The Professors are good people but are bad at teaching. I had professors who didn't know what they were talking about, would give you wrong information, and fail you on the test for putting what they taught you since they don't even make up their own test! They get them from some other source and the only reason they know the right answers is because they have the key.

The people here are are clones of eachother, they have nothing exciting about them. Everyone is just a hardcore religious drone. It's hard to be friends with anybody if you don't think like they do.

The only people who I would recommend to go to this school are the religious freaks who have enough money to throw away while getting nothing in return.

There are barely any school activities, and the ones that they do plan are for children. This is just a really lame school... Don't go to UMHB!

Oh and another big problem with UMHB is about 80% of the school population goes home during the weekends! There is barely anybody on campus during the weekends and holidays, there are no events during the weekends, they don't even serve breakfast on the weekends! If you attend UMHB you will feel like you're just at an expensive daycare.
