Horrible.. YOu are just a number or paycheck. They make sure you can't graduate in a decent amount of time by only offering some required classes once every two years. The university is very pretencio but it's all just smoke and mirrors. I know this because I also worked for them. THey create programs that sound good to keep up appearances but put little effort into making them successful. Case in point most classes are horrible. They have a handful of great TA and only a few great professors. Sometimes the class will be taught by someone that doesn't know the material or that recieved the assignment a day before class and it shows.. Unless you are an independant learner you won't learn anything here. I paid them so that I could teach myself based on the books assigned to the course.

UTA isn't as bad as some people mightAverageEngineering Department
UTA isn't as bad as some people might exaggerate it to be. It's actually pretty chill.
Everything's pretty standard for a University, and their are plenty of opportunities--just like anywhere else. Plenty of resources to do what you came here to do and it's fairy inexpensive.

As far as the party scene goes, it's not all that but it's not hopeless. Parties DO happen, you just gotta be sociable and find them...making friends pays off...

As far as this safety thing goes--EXAGGERATION!Okay they may send out a random (like butt slapping) crime bulletin or two once in a while but there's nothing to be alarmed about out here--we're in ARLINGTON Texas!

Lot's of foreigners...
Greek life's alright...
No public transportation...
Sports: Basketball's good...Volleyball's good...Intramural sports are alright...not sure about anything else...

It is sometimes difficult to get things handled by faculty so being self-reliant and proactive is a very rewarding quality here, but there aren't many schools that are a walk in the park...especially public Universities... All and all: HONESTLY, I THINK UTA IS A PLACE FOR PLAIN OLE FOLKS WHO DON'T EXPECT TOO MUCH. UTA is chill, has many resources, and is pretty cheap; as far as entertainment goes, you better go find it!
