Question
I have been to HoustonBU and UHouston.AveragePhysics
I have been to HoustonBU and UHouston.
UT is the most social atmoshpere. So much so, dorm life is stressful. Cram 10,000 students into two Jester buidlings and you have stress. Diverse: Different people (that normally wouldn't) mingle in this non commuter school.

Austin by itself is ranked high as desireable cities to live in. Clubing = 6th street.UT is a research university. But the high level makes the profs good teachers. Physics lectures were fast, no errors, understandable, covered alot and simple questions were discouraged. At UHouston profs took all questions and ended up talking about something else.

Question
UT Austin has already influenced me in numerousBrightMechanical Engineering
UT Austin has already influenced me in numerous ways...just the feeling to being in the midst of a large city atmosphere motives me as a student to one day be a professional in the real world. The quality and credibility of the university is astonishing...people know about UT and people give it respect (sometimes even more than it should get). The social life here in Austin and here on campus is completely different than the suburb that I grew up in...There’s always events planned, the Greek life is well-developed, and the amount of extra-curricular activities is downright overwhelming. The funding that the individual schools provide towards development and graduate studies is among the elite in the nation, and technology is everywhere on campus. The sports teams are among the best in the country...Hook 'Em Horns...and school spirit is high, but not to the insane point of some rival schools (some school in college station). Some people might say that UT is "liberal", but I personally am pretty conservative and I have absolutely no problems getting along with anyone here. Now I know this all sounds great, but there are a couple of things that need attention at the university. First of all, the on-campus parking situation is out of control. My parking garage, which is within walking distance, was $616 for the year. That’s outrageous...Another complaint would be that our school doesn't improve in the US News rankings because of the state's Top 10% rule. The rule is justifiable by all accounts, but it gives our university a bad wrap among the others in the nation. All in all, for the wonderful atmosphere, the friendly people, the great social life, and one of the best educations out there, The University of Texas at Austin would be my top recommendation to anyone, not to mention it is the best "bang for your buck".
