I couldn't imagine being anywhere else. UT is honestly the college experience that you have in mind. Its got the best sports team (Hook 'em,) in the coolest city in the south, diverse and beautiful people, and just about something for everyone with 50,000+ students. You're not a number unless you let yourself be that way...isn't that real life!! There is so much to do and so much to be involved with. It's a little overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be bleeding orange too!

Although the school is huge, you tend to run in circles that include only the people in your major or your college (business, engineering, etc). I would say don't expect one-on-one contact that you would expect from a smaller school such as Rice. When you get here, just seek out those people who are cool and laid back as you are and you'll be fine. There are a lot of competitive students here and if you try to get caught up in that kind of academic life, you'll never enjoy Austin.

“I was a Plan II Honors Program/pre-med major.Other
I was a Plan II Honors Program/pre-med major. UT Austin is a wonderful University with the resources, the professors, the student body, and environment to help any student flourish. The Plan II Honors Program was my dream education. It is an interdisciplinary Liberal Arts program. I highly encourage anyone interested to look into it.
