Picked UT Austin out of 7 other schoolsQuite BrightVideo/Media
Picked UT Austin out of 7 other schools that all accepted me and offered scholarships, and I couldn't be happier. My professors all care a lot about what they are teaching, and who you are - even in classes with 100+ students - and while there is definitely a lot of homework and work to do, it's interesting for the most part, and worth it. Student body has been overall very friendly and approachable, as are professors. Dorms are pretty average but not bad. Campus is beautiful, and there's a million things to do in Austin. Nightlife is very fun. There is a required core curriculum of like history, math, english etc and I think that would both me more if I hadn't taken advantage of AP credits - if I had to take all of the core classes, instead of just the few I didn't place out of, I would probably have a less interesting course schedule. My academic advisor is incredibly helpful. Financial aid is ok - this was actually the only school not to offer me any scholarships. I would just definitely recommend this school to anyone - the school spirit is incredible, the academic reputation is great, and there's a million and one things to do for fun. Come here!

Question
A college eductation is essential if you expectBusiness - Management and Administration
A college eductation is essential if you expect to be competitive in today's job market. Trust me, you won't get your foot in the door without it. What you realize after college though is that it's just the ante to play the game, a line on a resume competing with many other resumes. Have a plan/strategy for your college years that includes graduate or professional school. Study something that you like as an undergard but be disciplined enough to keep your grades up so that getting into a decent grad/professional program will be a viable option for you. You'll have many more options with an advanced degree from a top tier program than you will with one from a lesser school. Good luck!

Dr. Rakesh B Pherwani of Spring, Texas attendedQuite BrightChemical Engineering
Dr. Rakesh B Pherwani of Spring, Texas attended the University of Texas for undergraduate coursework. More information, if desired, can be found on his website www.rakesh-pherwani.abic-medical.com (http://www.rakesh-pherwani.abic-medical.com).

The University of Texas is a school of opportunity. The climate and geography are very nice. Therefore, there are many resources both in the scholastic and extracurricular departments.

I have seen classmates fall into traps of losing the balance between coursework and outside interests. Be sure to follow the path that I did and be more dilligent with coursework. Find extracurricular activities that help augment your coursework rather than falling prey to the offender against high grades ("sex drugs and alcohol").

The hard work will pay off in the long run and you will actually enjoy your time in Austin and beyond much more.
