Positive Negative Neutral Advice
Hindsight is 20/20.Finance
Hindsight is 20/20. With that knowledge i would not change a single thing about my undergraduate choice of JMU. The fellow students make this university absolutely amazing. Don't take my word for it, see for yourself.

Question
I'm surprised by the negative feedback from EnglishBrightEnglish
I'm surprised by the negative feedback from English majors. JMU was a safety school for me, but I really liked the environment when I toured, and have been pleasantly surprised by the high academic standards in the English department. I have never had an English professor who was unqualified or mean. I have been challenged by the coursework and my ideas have been listened to and respected. It's true that there are a lot of slutty people, but to me it just makes it easier to spot the cool ones. It can be hard as a freshman, especially if your dorm is filled with slutty, shallow people like mine was. But if you take the initiative to make a change, good things will come. I moved out of my dorm and had a completely awesome roommate and a great freshman experience after that. Honestly, anyone who complains about there being nothing to do but drink and nothing but shallow sluts at this university is simply too lazy to find what is fun to them. Downtown has so much awesome stuff, particularly student music groups. The university itself offers so many programs. It's stunning to me that people can't find anything to do. Be resourceful, get your own happiness. Nobody's going to deliver it to you.

Question
I didn't want to go to JMU either,Art & Design Department
I didn't want to go to JMU either, but sometimes crap just happens. The admissions office women were straight up b*#ches to me (like i was supposed to know exactly what i was doing). My advisor screwed me over so bad that i had to stay an extra year, and she could care less about me..so that made me feel warm and fuzzy all over. Lots of skanks and snobs. I did love a lot of the professors and art classes, but some were so aloof they acted like they didn't give a shit. the town does suck. and last year there were riots at the school. so go to JMU (not!)
