This University is full of idiots!BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
This University is full of idiots! The majority of the students are those who kissed a lot of ass in high school and managed to earn something like a 4.7 on a 4 point scale (which is pointless; if your not in advanced or AP classes why are you going to college anyway). Unfortunately while there GPA may be high they are those students who recieved less than 1000 points on their SAT. This leads to class discussions that are less then intelectually stimulating. I will admit that I did not wish to go to college in the first place so perhaps my viewpoint is biased. I have met multiple students who don't even know who James Madison was. The school does provide an excellent party atmosphere; the perfect place to drink away the memory of getting denied at the UNC. Oh, and if your a straigh male, welcome to paradise!

Question
JMU is a really beautiful place, the foodQuite BrightEducation
JMU is a really beautiful place, the food is incredible, and the general spirit is nice- the average JMU student is helpful, considerate, fun, and independent. Unfortunately, the average student is also a little bit dumb. The University forces a few too many easy and unnecessary general education classes on students, ESPECIALLY in my department. In general though, I really like it here. There are a thousand opportunities to get involved and make friends, and everyone is really spirited; that makes football games fun despite the crappy stadium and semi-crappy team. Let's not forget that we have the most AMAZING marching band on the East Coast! That alone makes games worthwhile. One other plus is that, though freshman general ed classes may be boring sometimes, they are really small for a university of this size. Freshman at UVa, Tech, and other such colleges sit in classes of 300, 400, even 700 people. As a first semester freshman, my biggest class is 40! I would recommend JMU to most anyone, except for the extremely intelligent who may be bored. I find myself bored right now, but I am loading up on classes and activities next semester to lessen that.

Question
JMU is a good school, dont get me wrong.BrightBiology
JMU is a good school, dont get me wrong. I just personally hate it here, if it weren't for the campus and the one other normal person here, i would not have stayed. Girls are abundant and guys are limited. I dont have any guy friends and that is really have for me because its all i had at home.

If you are coming from out of state like i am, then you will be alone. Everyone is from VA and everyone knows someone. I came here from MA and that was dumb.

The social life is crazy if you get into it, i didn't. Even with clubs, activities, parties and what not i did not make friends. So if you are a little bit different by being artistic, or really into your music, don't worry about your appearance half as much as these girls then don't do this to yourself.

If you are tan, blond, into sports, preppy, and cliquey then this is the school for you. It's a good amount of work and the school is only going to get harder to get into, but as for now it's a joke.
