I can see why people love this school,Quite BrightBiology
I can see why people love this school, but it wasn't for me and my opinion was the polar oppsite of those kids. Vermont winters are astoundingly cold, and the campus is simply not designed to facilitate this extreme temperature. I felt like a number, and doubt a single teacher knows my name, despite after lecture conversations or relatively creative papering. Don't expect any help from the school here, your nothing but a cash cow and 'the man' will stick it to you any chance they can to reap some more funding in the form of fines and penalties. Parking is a joke, fun is a joke, and success is usually measured by how well you can slip through cracks in the system. That said, my freshman year i was doing research in a lab for credit, and teachers are very approachable and helpful. No one out here is particularly unfriendly, just seasonally depressed from the cold and gray. Fogel is the worst thing that could have happened to this institution.

Question
Although stereotypes exist for a reason and UVMPolitical Science
Although stereotypes exist for a reason and UVM can fit the mold of a hippie/snowboarding/party-haven, there is a lot more to the school than meets the eye and I thoroughly enjoyed my years there. I was an extreme procrastinator when it came to academics and have realized the error of my ways because UVM and its professors have a lot to offer if a student is willing to show an interest. There is a vast amount of resources and involved professors at the fingertips of each and every student, unfortunately some students are too hung-over to realize this before the 4 years are up. Burlington is also a really eclectic little city, full of funky bars and restaurants and a fairly good music scene. If you can make it through the VT winters, the summers are absolutely perfect....

Question
Most of the kids are cool, but aQuite BrightPolitical Science
Most of the kids are cool, but a lot of the hippies smell. If you don't like to get high this might not be the place for you. Also, you need a pretty decent fake to get into bars downtown. The new president is a psychopath, and thinks this is an ivy league school with no parties. The police force makes sure of this, as almost every party thrown are busted by cops. They will line you up and breathalize you...even a .01 will warrent a $100 ticket. Basically, you are being watched and one wrong move will send you into probation.
