Gonzaga is not like a typical college campus-Quite BrightEnglish
Gonzaga is not like a typical college campus- which can be a good or a bad thing depending on what you're looking for. It's easiest to describe the social atmosphere of Gonzaga from a high school lens. Basically, Gonzaga is a place where those who were just outside the cusp of popularity in high school can go and be popular. The majority of the students their love the outdoors, granola, and frolicking about aimlessly while they profess their "long-term" love and knowledge of Gonzaga basketball. That said, the education (with the exception of the communications department) is top par. Gonzaga University really bends over backwards for their students in every way. I give the school itself an A+, I give the students that go to the school a C-.

Question
Gonzaga is one of those places where youAverageUndecided
Gonzaga is one of those places where you will truly find who you are as a person. I would say about 98% of the people who go to GU absolutely LOVE it, and the other 2% try to destroy the school the best they can on review sites like this one. They probably did have a not so good experience here, but it is probably something that could happen at any college. The people here are truly amazing. There are a lot of middle-upper class students but for the most part everyone is humble and it's not a competition. I guess this could also be based upon where you are from (compared to where I live in California, this place is sooooo humble and friendly, but I guess if you were from somewhere where there is one road in all of town it could be a little tough to get used to...)Anyways, the academics are challenging and very informative, and just to make it clear, I, along with almost all of my friends, do not drink at all or party yet still always have something to do. Gonzaga is a great place and I honestly don't think I would rather be at any other university.

Question
GU is full of stuck up, white, richQuite BrightPolitical Science
GU is full of stuck up, white, rich kids. It is hard to find anyone who is humble and genuinely nice. Finding true friends may be hard to do, all the people at GU just want to impress each other with how much money they have. It is easy to find drinking/party friends though, that's what GU is made of.

As for the academics here I was very surprised. I thought this school would be challenging, but I was wrong. It really is just like high school all over again. The professors are nice but I honestly don't think they care if they students are getting a quality education or not.

The dorms here are awful. They are old, cramped and feel like they might collapse. It would be nice to be in Coughlin but I didn't write the required essay to get in. I recommend getting out of the dorms ASAP. The food here is terrible as well, it's bland, mushy and sometimes cold when you get it. Eat elsewhere if you can afford it.

I do like that many people here are involved in intramurals, it's a lot of fun to have something to do outside of your dorm for once.

The party scene here is huge. Everyone drinks mainly because it's the only way to have fun in Spokane. Since the school work is a joke and there is no homework, the parties are all the time. I really wish I went to a different school, because my time here at GU has been dreadful and to be honest, quite depressing in the winter (which seems like all year). The school is full of a bunch of fakes and I don't think I'll find my "life-long" friends here, sure I have many acquaintances but they will come and go. If things were anything like my first year experience, I want to transfer out probably after this semester. I really am not looking forward to going back this fall, it's only 3 weeks away now and I'm dreading it.
