have money... only real requirement.

Academy of Art University has a SEVERE PROBLEM with safety, when it comes to International Students. In the aftermath of all the terrorist attacks the US has experienced, and growing up through Columbine, and Virgina Tech.... knowing that AAU has is open enrollment and easily accept International Students makes me UNCOMFORTABLE!

I needed only my high school transcripts, had toDec 27 2009Unknown
I needed only my high school transcripts, had to turn in photos of my sewing/designing work and that was all. It wasn't hard getting in in but it is difficult staying in because at times you will want to give up and quit because of all the demanding time-consuming homework and strenuous projects.

This school is not for the faint of heart; only dedicated, hardworking, punctual, talented or skilled persons, and persons who can be taught need only apply. It also helps if you have some firsthand knowledge of your major before enrolling in this school.

Would I recommend AAU, probably not unless you fit the above criteria.

Final comment: I think AAU is an excellent and expensive school but well worth the time and money if you truly apply yourself and cut out all of your time wasters.

The saying is true...... "If you have a pulse and a checkbook you can get in". Very easy to get in. Just pay the application fees and tuition and you're part of the herd now.

I had to get my transcripts translated since IMay 30 2009Art & Design Department
I had to get my transcripts translated since I graduated with a BA from a foreign University, but people won't have to deal with that. I provided copies of my previous degrees and also had a electronic and paper portfolio reviewed by the Director of the Department.
