I applied online through Clemson's admission websiteDec 12 2014Preparatory
I applied online through Clemson's admission website. The Common App was not required, and an essay was not required either. I've heard, however, the admission process has gotten a little tougher. However, if you're top 15% in your class, is involved in some kind of way, and made above average SAT/ACT scores, you should have no problem.

Getting into Clemson out of state is not difficultApr 07 2013Computer Science
Getting into Clemson out of state is not difficult given that you've put forward a decent effort in high school. Being accepted in state is more difficult since nearly EVERY kid ranked in the top 10% of their class wants to study here. If you don't get accepted, don't fret, for some odd reason Clemson lets you appeal their decision. It's amazing some of the students they let in after appealing. Really, the key is making good grades (B+/A- average) in difficult classes (Honors/AP/IB), and scoring above 1200 on the SAT or its equivalent on the ACT. Clemson doesn't value extracurricular activities or application essays much. It probably took 20 minutes to complete the essay and personal statement.

Not hard to get into really. Just be careful with the application and plan the essay well.

I don't really know what it takes to get in, they've changed since I applied. All I did was fill out the form and wait, they didn't even have an essay.

Admission to the University is getting more competitiveJun 06 2004Physics
Admission to the University is getting more competitive. Hopefully the campus environment will change as a result, but if this ever happens it will be long after I escape. There are no essays or interviews invovled in the application, and I don't think they much care about the character of the people getting in. If you have above average scores and no ambition or passion (aside from football and alcohol) then you should have no trouble getting in to Clemson.
