I had grades and scores near the 75th percentile,Feb 17 2015Business - Management and Administration
I had grades and scores near the 75th percentile, but my extracurriculars were below average. Again, it's all about marketing yourself and making Villanova seem like a place you will thrive, even if you did not in high school. But if you come, don't repeat your high school tactics; get involved and do as much as you can. You'll feel like a better person, it's great for your resume, and even if it doesn't "count" for Law or Med school, good ECs give you a great background as a person, which will help you in the long run.

To get in I wrote a good essay andDec 06 2011Civil Engineering
To get in I wrote a good essay and made sure they knew I was a well rounded individual. List activities. Sports. Clubs. etc. Especially if you have a leadership position in something. Also, good SATs don't hurt either.

It is not that hard to get into Villanova. If you get good grades and participate in extracurriculars, you'll get in.

I didn't have the best SAT scores (around 1230)Dec 29 2009Engineering Department
I didn't have the best SAT scores (around 1230) or ACT scores (26), but I had a 3.9 unweighted GPA and 4.35 weighted GPA and was ranked in the top 2% of my class, being 15 out of 600. I have a friend here who had a little less than a 3.0 GPA but amazing SAT scores so I guess have one or the other. Also, lots of activities to show you are well-rounded. I did community service every weekend for 2 years and was involved in theater, choir, dance, speech and debate, and a few other little things. A killer essay is also key. Make sure it is meaningful and thoughtful, not just something you wrote on a whim.
