Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
Florida State University is an excellent university, but maybe it is not for you. It is a university with generally excellent liberal arts programs. If you want to major in English/Social Studies/Fine Arts, etc. then you may very well want to consider Florida State. If you are looking for Math/Science/Technology fields, another university might be better. FSU has TONS of parties. Some people party every night...but generally fail most of their classes. It is easy to find a club or a party but other than that you really have to make other things to do as nothing else in open in Tallahassee after midnight (besides like Denny's). If you are looking for a place that provides many activities besides parties, you're going to have to create them. Obviously the difficulty of college is going to depend on your department, intellectual level, and how much you study but I can assure you that if you study and try, you will be able to pass at FSU. The classes aren't incredibly overbearing and the professors are available for you if you need them. They aren't going to go out of their way to provide you help, but they all have office hours, will talk to you after class, and are most available throughy e-mails. The other staff at the University are all extremely friendly (except at the housing office). The University is VERY beaurocratic though and I have heard it been described as "more beaurocratic than Nixon's administration." There seems to be an office for everything. Overall I'd say the University is great and I am very glad I came. If I could have afforded to go to Notre Dame I would have gone there, but this is an excellent 2nd choice. There are tons of clubs, organizations, and opportunities in general. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions you might have on the University and I will give you a very honest opinion or answer.
