The dedication and friendliness of the faculty is overwhelming. The professors are genuinely interested in helping each of their students find a personal path within their art. If you are motivated, interested in a challenge and ready to explore your creative ability, you will thrive at this school. But if you are looking at college as a way to expand your social life, Savannah is not the city for you. The city is small, quiet and FILLED with aging tourists. Also, the college brings in a GREAT deal of money each year, but seems to use that money more for marketing to future students of SCAD, rather than for the well-being of the current student body (i.e. campus safety or parking!). It seems there are a lot of politics at play within this town and college, almost to the point that it feels as if the administrative departments are more interested in the FUTURE of the school, rather than the present. But those political ties and funding allocation mishaps exist in every school, public and private, and do not interfere with the excellent teaching and the opportunities for personal growth.
