UNCA was a great experience for me. The small, personal atmosphere gave me a lot of opportunity for direct interaction with my professors, independant research, and the type of encouragement and support that I would never have found at a larger school. I went on to graduate school at a big name university, and while I like having that marquee name on my resume, I learned more at UNCA - both academically and as a person. I highly recommend UNCA for anyone who is serious about education and doesn't want to get lost in the shuffle.
