As far as the student body goes, they are horrible. I have never been to a more close minded place in my life. If you are looking for an uber christian (Missouri synod not ELCA as mentioned), conservative (once again... Missouri Synod), rich, white, judgement passing student body... then this is the place for you! Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of nice people. However, for every nice person you find, there are 10 others who will look down on you for some aspect of who you are... your sexuality, your social status, your clothes... basically what I am saying is that you're years at Valpo might probably seem like grades 13-16 of high school. Classes are chalenging and consuming. I respect the professors a lot. They are very dedicated to their work. The town is by far the most boring place I've ever been to... and that includes Canada. Chicago is at least an hour away. The nearest movie theatre is 20 minutes away as is the nearest shopping area or any entertainment. Downtown Valpo is cute, but has nothing to do. Basically in order to have fun at this school, you need to leave this school... and in order to leave this school you need a car... and in order to have a car, you need to live at least 500 miles away. Point being, few students have cars, and nothing worth anyone's time, is in walking distance. If I had another chance I would not attend this school. The only reason I am still here is because it is too difficult to transfer.
