I thought that UCD would be a joke. I had been accepted to Duke, UCB, UCLA and USC. I decided to go to UCD to save money and stay closer to my family. I had heard nothing good about Davis, that it was a cowtown and boring, that the school wasn't academically challenging. The town is quiet, which I like, but there are parties and bars, with downtown Sac and the City close enough. The school is much tougher than I had predicted. Yeah, they let in too many undergrads, but the profs are top-notch and you get a good all-around undergrad education. If you're one of those who think you're too smart for Davis (like I did), you'll be suprised.
