Grand Valley, like most universities, is what you make it. Grand Rapids is close enough to provide a social outlet for anyone who has a car. No, the "cultural experience" is not the same as you would find at MSU or U of M. I am a graduate student in Florida now, and value the upper level baccalaureate education I received at GVSU. In Florida, I feel that the educational achievements of the average student are somewhat below those found in Michigan, and especially, Grand Valley.
