Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
Smith was difficult both academically (as it should be) and socially. Students from a blue-collar background can find the very different mind set and values of the majority of Smith students difficult to understand. It does not accomodate the student who must work more than a few hours a week or who has very little money very well. I hope that's changed since I graduated. Smith was literally a life-changing experience for me and I would do it again. I met wonderful people who have been my friends ever since and grad school is a breeze in comparison. I've taken life-long pleasure in many of the things I discovered there and I believe it was the best choice of colleges I could have made. To thrive at Smith, you must be bright, self-reliant and determined---good things for a woman who wants to succeed in any field.
