Smith is a very unique experience. It is a very personal, intimate and sheltered environment, though you can certainly 'get out' and stay in tune with all that is going on -- it's simply a matter of choice. The education and academic resources are outstanding and the other college aspects such as extra-curriculars and housing life, are extremely rewarding. However, the secluded lifestyle can take its toll after four years and may not be for everyone. I would not recommend it to anyone who felt she would miss having both genders in her daily activities or anyone who felt she strongly appreciated having a social atmosphere provided easily for her.
