Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
U.C. Riverside is one of the few UCs (Berkeley and UCR) that offer a full fledged B.S. in undergraduate business. You can choose your emphasis in either finance, accounting, management, MIS, marketing, etc. They also offer an MBA program, many masters, and PHD programs as well. There is also a UCLA/UCR biomedical science degree major where you spend your first 3 years at UCR (where you obtain your bachelors) and the last 2 at UCLA for your M.D. So far my experience at UC Riverside has been a positive one. I enjoy the Men's NCAA Division I Basketball games and there always seems to be things going on in the campus. One cool thing about Riverside is that the city is rather large 280,000+ (top 10 city in California) so there are plenty of malls, retail shops, etc in town. Los Angeles, Orange County are about 45 mins away (when traffic is not a problem) while close enough to Vegas and San Diego for a weekend trip. Great snowboarding is nearby at Mountain High and Big Bear. It is more bustling then UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Santa Cruz. I wasn't expecting a whole lot from UCR but was pleasantly surprised. Important factors include available housing, financial aid, and classes. I am a Business Admin major with an emphasis in Management Information Systems. Over 1/3 of the students are business majors, so if your coming here for business you will get a lot of help from your peers. UCR is a UC on the rise since it is the fastest growing UC in the system (planning for 25,000+ students in 2015) and the next UC in line for a new Law school. A new medical school is also in the works.
