UCR has an absolutely beautiful campus with nice dorms and surrounding apartments. However, Riverside the city isn't too nice, and there seems to be a lot of poverty and crime past a one-mile radius of the campus. I do feel safe on campus. Also, there are fantastic campus resources to be utilized: tutoring at the Learning Center, TA's, study groups, UCR websites(ex. iLearn), etc. I have had very intelligent, articulate, and proficient professors. The campus has a diverse ethnic population; however, there is a pretty large majority of Asian students. Overall, I feel that UCR has fantastic scholastic opportunities, great professors, intelligent students, good resources, and a great campus. Unfortunately, Riverside as a city is the only drawback.
